Throughout the course students are expected to experience working with a variety of different art-making and conceptual forms. SL students should, as a minimum, experience working with at least two art-making forms, each selected from separate columns of the table below. HL students should, as a minimum, experience working with at least three art-making forms, selected from a minimum of two columns of the table below. The examples given are for guidance only and are not intended to represent a definitive list.

लिखता हूँ

जो देखता हूँ।

देखता हूँ तो

समझता हूँ।

समझ के

पूनः देखता हूँ और फिर,

देख कर चलता हूँ...

उन्ही तमाम आड़ी-टेढ़ी रेखाओं पर

जो कभी...

कभी यूँ ही बात की जाए, खयालों की,

तो बस यूं ही...

खयाल कभी गली के नुक्कड़ पे तो,

कभी चाय की चुस्की लेते...

तो इत्तफ़ाक़ कभी यूँ होता कि...

न जाने

अनजाने ही सही,

मिला तो...

मैं, मैं से,

या स्वयं से...

गुरु (The teacher)

मेरे सभी प्यारे एवं आदरणीय गुरुजनों को विनम्रता पूर्वक शुक्रिया अदा करना चाहता हूँ।
यद्दपि इस मुकाम तक का सफर आसान नहीं रहा, कड़ी मेहनत के बावज़ूद भी सफलता का रास्ता ढूंढे न मिलता था। परंतु गुरुजनों द्वारा सिखाई एकएक तालीम मानों ज़हन में गुल सी गई हो और निराकार से आकार में तब्दील होने को आतुर सी रहतीं...
परन्तु इस असमंजस की घड़ी में गुरु का सिखाया प्रत्येक पाठ मानों सूखी-बंजर ज़मीन पर एक शाख़ के टूटे पत्ते का मिलना जैसे जीवन का अस्तित्व मिल गया हो।
फिर क्या था... तालीम में गुरु के स्वर गूँज उठे *("ऐसा काम करो कि लोग आपके काम का अनुसरण करें, और स्वयं नवीन कार्य करने में अपना ध्यान व मानसिक शक्ति को केंद्रित करने में लगा दो,* *सफलता इसी कार्य को सही तरह से व सच्चे तरीके से करने में ही है।)*
जीवन जीने में इन स्वर्णिम विचारों का बहुत बड़ा योगदान रहा और आज भी है कला की यह शिक्षा मुझे मेरे गुरु आदरणीय *श्री अमित गंजू जी* से मिली। कला की बारीकियों में पारंगत करने में गुरु *आदरणीया नवीना गंजू जी* का बहुत बड़ा योगदान रहा जो आज भी है। तद्पश्चात आदरणीय *गुरु विद्यासागर उपाध्याय जी* का रहा । उनसे कला में सुव्यवस्था का ज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ, वहीं *स्वर्गीय श्री सुरेंद्र पाल जोशी जी* का मेरे जीवन व मेरी कला पर भी प्रभाव रहा। उनसे सही व ग़लत की समझ विकसित हुई। साथ ही कला गुरु *कलाविद श्री रमेश गर्ग जी* का मेरी कला में वह योगदान रहा जैसे कि प्यासे को मीठे पानी का कुँआ ही मिल गया हो। उनके सानिध्य में व उनके ज्ञान की पारलौकिकता ने आज इस मुकाम तक ला पहुँचाया जहाँ आम व्यक्ति या फिर साधारण व्यक्ति सिर्फ सपने देख पाता है। ऐसे दिग्गज़ व महान गुरुओं का जब सिर पर हाथ होता है तो कला जगत में उनकी शिक्षा का परचम तो लहरायेगा ही। साथी ही स्वर्गीय *कलाविद श्री रंजीत सिंह चूड़ावाला* से नवीन रचना को सार्थक करने के गुर प्राप्त हुए। वर्ष 2006 में जनवरी माह में मेरी मुलाकात कला जगत की एक महान एवं प्रतिष्ठित विभूति से हुई जिन्होंने अपनी कला से ही नहीं वरण उनके निर्मल स्वभाव से भी विदेशी धरती पर अपनी ब्लू पॉटरी को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पहचान दिलाई। उनसे प्राप्त हुई कला की शिक्षा मानो मेरे जीवन मे नई कोंपलों के आने की शुरुआत थी। अवसर था मेरे जीवन की प्रथम एवमं एकल प्रदर्शनी का, मेरे ही जन्म दिवस पर 23 जनवरी को इस ऐतिहासिक क्षण में परिवर्तित किया मेरे *प्रिय गुरु आदरणीय पद्मश्री श्री कृपाल सिंह शेखावत जी* ने। उन्होंने मेरी कला का बड़ी ही बारीकी से अवलोकन किया ओर सम्पूर्ण मीडिया पत्रकारों,वदर्शको व कला प्रेमियों के समक्ष स्वयं की बात रखी और यह ऐलान किया कि, *"सौरभ इस कला जगत को एक नया मुकाम, एक नया कलाकार मिल गया है, सौरभ तू काम करता चला जा... तेरा ज़माना इंतज़ार कर रहा है..."* इस साधारण से मनाये जाने वाले मेरे जन्म दिवस को असाधारण व एक ऐतिहासिक पल में तब्दील किया गया। इन स्वर्णिम वचनों ने मेरे जीवन की परिभाषा ही बदल दी थीं। अब इस कला जगत का नवीन बालक रुकने कहाँ वाला था... दिन को रात और रात को दिन सब एक कर दिया इस नन्हें बालक ने। एक के बाद एक, लगातार कतार में अपनी प्रदर्शनियों का आयोजन किया। फिर एका-एक मेरा परिचय हुआ *श्रीमान रामेश्वर सिंह जी* से, जिन्होंने कला में जीना सिखाया। उनकी 100 वी कला प्रदर्शनी के दौरान उनसे एक प्रेरणा यह भी मिली कि जीवन मे रंगों से दोस्ती रखो तभी सही और बुरे वक़्त में ये रंगीन दोस्त ही काम आएंगे...
इसी रंगीन दुनिया में रंगों के मिश्रण लेकर आये एक और कला गुरु, मैं उन्हें अपना मित्र भी मानता हूँ वह हैं *श्री शब्बीर हसन क़ाज़ी साहब।* इनकी कला से मुझे बेहद लगाव व प्रेम हैं। इसी प्रेम यानी कला में सौन्दर्यानुभूति की समझ को व्यापक इसमें और विस्तार करने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ माननीय *श्रीमान हिम्मत शाह साहब* से। आपने मुझे कला से रूबरू होने का नजरिया प्रदान किया। इसी नज़रिये ने मुझे अपने आपसे मिलवाया। इस मिलन की घड़ी में कला से संवाद कराने का श्रेय रंग कर्मी *आदरणीय मेरे प्रिय गुरु श्रीमान गोपाल आचार्य जी* का रहा। आपने सिखाया, कला न सिर्फ रंग है बल्कि स्वयं के मन की अभिव्यक्ति है जिसे अभिव्यक्त करने या प्रदर्शित करना अत्यंत आवश्यक है। इसी आवश्यकता ने मुझमें एक उत्सुकता को जन्म दिया और मेरी मुलाकात कराई कला जगत में पूर्ण रूपेण रमे हुए कलाकार *श्रीमान लक्षयपाल सिंह राठौर जी भाईसाहब* से।

आप सभी गुरुओं का सानिध्य ही मेरे जीवन को सार्थक बनाता है।
आप सभी महान कला गुरुओं को मेरा शत-शत नमन व आप द्वारा बनाई गई कई कलाकृतियों में से मेरे कला रूपी जीवन की कलाकृति के निर्माण के लिए आप सभी का मन की गहराइयों से शुक्रिया ज्ञापित करता हूँ।
